“Wrapped in the sheets…” is a first solo project in Georgia of New York based artist Levan Mindiashvili. from 2009 he works on the project “Mobile Intimacies” in which he is investigating and exploring human and urban intimacies. “Wrapped in the sheets…” will be featuring brand new works from these series.
Levan Mindiashvili was born in Tbilisi in 1979. After graduating Tbilisi State Academy of arts he intensively exhibits his works in Europe, Latin America, US and Georgia. Between 2008-2012 he was based in Buenos Aires, where he realized post-graduate studies in interdisciplinary art projects at The National University of Art. He was a curator at Laguanacazul Art Gallery and performer of experimental theater company Ensamble Caustico. in 2011 he establishes creative duo UTA LEVAN together with a New York based georgian multimedia artist and designer Uta Bekaia – working on numerous projects invlovnig visual arts, fashion and film.
from 2012 Levan is based in New York collaborating with Ideal Glass Gallery and LeonidesArts NY.
Numerous internatioanl publications are featuring his works, and among them are: Telma (Argentina), Garcons (Chile), VernissageTV (Switzerland), BEAT magazine (Georgia), WOOF magazine (Brasil), Hot Chocolate (Georghia), etc.
his works are kept in the University of California (USA) and in private collections worldwide: US, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Turquey, Argentina, Chile, Brasil, Mexico, Japan, Russia, Austria, Denmark, Sweden, UK and Georgia,
Uta Bekaia – New York based georgian designer and multimedia artist. has worked for more than 150 projects for theater and cinema. He is creating wearable artwear for performances and live installations.
